Mix Salsa

What is Mix Salsa?

Music and dance is a way to express yourself, give out all kinds of feelings and emotions.

Salsa is a flavour, it translates from Spanish as ketchup. It is the name given to the number of cuban rhythmic expressions such as Cha cha cha, Guaracha, Guaguanco, Pachanga, Son, Mambo, Portorican rythms and afroamerican jazz. all included in one piece of music, as well as a mixture of flavours identified as a musical genre.(It is danced in 8 time and performs 6 steps and one pauses, kick or tap at time 4 and 8 when dancing in1), but it’s not just about steps, it involves the whole body, but first I think that is better to focus in the correct basic steps and a correct posture. (Music and dance) for me is a social construction, a cultural expression, but it is at the same time a way to maintain a healthy life through its practice to improve our cardiovascular, nervous and muscular system. While toning our physical part, our mental aspect also benefits through interaction with others and improves our social life.

Other benefits of the dance is that we obtain better balance, coordination agility and flexibility.

What is Dominican Bachata?

Dominican style Bachata is the original style created in the Dominican Republic derived from Bolero and influenced from chachacha and Merengue, danced in time 4/4, two measure in total 8 time and is basically a side to side motion coupled with lots of foot works and freestyle moves by the performer. Performers doing the dance alternate between open and close positions with lots of bounce than other styles. There are not many turn patterns with the Dominican Bachata style.

What is Kizomba?

Kizomba is a dance from Angola and derived from Semba rhythm characterized by close partner connection and smooth, grounded movement. The movement with the music is the priority, and steps are incorporated according to the range of your vocabulary. Kizomba can be successfully danced with only four or five moves.

What is Reggaeton?

Reggaeton is a modification of raggamuffin that, in turn, developed from reggae and Hip Hop. Reggaeton distinguishes itself through its provocative and full of protest Spanish lyrics and exhibits the impact of further Latino styles, like bomba and salsa. Reggaeton is a relatively new music style that has become increasingly popular in the 90’s.
